Is Tithing Required?

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

If you've been to any church, I'm sure you are familiar with the book of Malachi. Well, maybe not the book, but a particular verse in Malachi:

Malachi 3:10:

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now here with, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Without any examination of the BOOK of Malachi, people start giving away 10% of they pay on a weekly basis. Without any research of the BIBLE, people start writing checks, setting up direct deposit in some cases, and start giving away 10% (or even more in some churches) of their pay. Why? Because they want a "blessing" and they don't want to be "cursed". Sounds like a FEAR-tactic to me. Let me give our take on this. If Christ fulfilled the law (and we know he did) there is no longer any "law" for the people of God to "try" and fulfill. He did it "for" us so that we won't have to do it. Nothing wrong with "giving" but there is something wrong with "legalistic giving". Christ was also made a curse "for" us so we won't have to be cursed. Therefore, tithing is NOT required. Let me know your thoughts.

Dated me, MARRIED her!

Does this sound familiar? When you had him, you were together for years! However, he never proposed, never hinted at, never even considered getting married. So what did you do? You gave him a choice:
